Abstract
Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), has issued a Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) titled Semiaquatic Mammal Damage Management in Oregon. The EA analyzed the potential environmental impacts of alternatives for WS’ involvement in semiaquatic mammal damage management. The selected alternative, Alternative 1, allows WS to respond to requests for assistance with an integrated approach that uses a variety of non-lethal and lethal techniques to reduce semiaquatic mammal damage to human safety, agriculture, property, and natural resources in Oregon. Based on the analysis in the Final EA, the FONSI concluded that the selection of Alternative 1 will not cause any significant impacts to the human environment.
