Abstract
This action addresses the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s technology review of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for polyether polyols (PEPO) production (40 CFR part 63, subpart PPP). The PEPO NESHAP was created in 1999 per section 112(d) of the Clean Air Act (CAA). PEPO facilities can emit hazardous air pollutants (HAP) including ethylene oxide (e.g., from process vents or equipment leaks). Proposed rule revisions consider developments in practices, processes, and control technologies and risk to nearby communities associated with HAP emissions from PEPO facilities.
