Abstract

EPA is designating D-gluconic acid, .delta.-lactone (CASRN 90-80-2), common name glucono-delta-lactone, as a low-priority substance. As required under section 6(b) of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) implementing regulations, EPA is designating 20 chemical substances as low-priority substances for which risk evaluation is not warranted at this time. The document in this docket provides a summary of the approach, analysis, and basis for the final designation of D-gluconic acid, .delta.-lactone as a low-priority substance.
