Abstract

EPA is proposing to amend the significant new use rules (SNURs) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for certain chemical substances that were the subject of premanufacture notices (PMNs), microbial commercial activity notices (MCANs), and in some cases significant new use notices (SNUNs). This action would amend the SNURs to (1) allow certain new uses reported in those notices without additional notification requirements and (2) modify the significant new use notification requirements based on EPA’s actions and determinations for those notice submissions or based on the examination of new test data or other information.
