Abstract

This notice serves to state the intention of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 6, (“EPA Region 6”) to issue three (3) Underground Injection Control (UIC) Class VI injection well permits to Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, LLC, under the authority of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and UIC Program regulations [40 CFR Parts 124, 144-146]. The proposed Class VI permits are for three (3) Class VI injection wells (BRP CCS1, BRP CCS2, and BRP CCS3) that will be used to inject carbon dioxide for the purpose of geologic sequestration near Penwell, Ector County, Texas.
