Subject: B737 Dorsal Fin Assembly Fuselage Skin ¿ Final Rule; Request for Comments Ladies/Gentlemen: FAA has issued and requested comments on AD 2004-22-05, effective November 12, 2004. This rule is applicable to all Boeing Model 737-300, -400, and -500 series airplanes. This AD requires inspecting for discrepancies of the fuselage skin under the dorsal fin assembly, and repairing if necessary. ATA appreciates the opportunity to comment on this proposed rule. Our members generally support the intent of the rulemaking; however, additional review and clarification would be desirable on the attached comments. Specifically: ¿Repair Procedures ¿ Better definition of Repair Procedures to be provided for use if subsequent damage is found on initial repairs. Your serious consideration of these observations and comments would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Robert Peel Director of Quality Air Transport Association
