Anthropomorphic Test Devices; THOR 50th percentile adult male test dummy; Incorporation by Reference

The Alliance for Automotive Innovation ("Auto Innovators") requests that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) extend the public comment period for responding to the September 22, 2026, Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNPRM) to amend Part 572 to include the Test Device for Human Occupant Restraint 50th Percentile Adult Male Dummy (THOR-50M) to at least 60 days. An extension would provide stakeholders with sufficient opportunity to complete the necessary technical analyses, coordinate across member companies, and submit more detailed comments to help better inform any changes to the final rule.
