Feb 27, 2015· Comment from Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers et al· FDA-2015-N-0045-0029

These comments are submitted on behalf of the members of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the Association of Global Automakers, Inc., the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association and the Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association, regarding this FDA notice and request for comment. Collectively, our associations include nearly every manufacturer of new passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles and their suppliers that manufacture vehicle parts, components and systems. Specifically, our comment letter addresses the potential impact of the World Health Organizations recommendations to list 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) under Schedule I of the 1971 United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances (1971 Convention) on our industry. The attached file is our complete comment letter.
