The attached comments from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) supports the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) entitled "Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System" (docket number: ACF RIN No. 0970-AC98) and provides input on this proposed rule. The AAP appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on this important children's health issue.
ACF proposes to amend the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) regulations that require title IV-E agencies to collect and report data to ACF on children who enter out-of-home care, their providers, and children who have a title IV-E adoption or guardianship assistance agreement to collect additional data related to Indian children.
