The attached submission from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) urges the EPA to reject this proposed decision for chlormequat chloride. We urge the EPA to seriously examine any tolerances for chlormequat in food products with appropriate pediatric risk assessment considerations. Abstract
For manufacturing use product label CHLORMEQUAT CHLORIDE MUP (45782-GU), and end use label ADJUST SL (45782-GL), Taminco US LLC (a subsidiary of Eastman Chemical Company) has submitted a petition to establish domestic tolerances and a Notice of Filing for Chlormequat Chloride in or on wheat, barley, oat, and triticale grains. They are also establishing secondary residues in meat, milk, poultry, and eggs.
