Dear Secretary Duffy, The American Chemistry Council (ACC) Plastics Division is pleased to provide the attached comments regarding the Department of Transportation's (DOT or "the Department") Request for Information on Advancing a Surface Transportation Proposal That Focuses on America's Most Fundamental Infrastructure Needs (RFI). Our response to this RFI is intended to inform the DOT's development of the next surface transportation authorizing legislation. We thank you for the opportunity to comment on the Department's Request for Information on Advancing a Surface Transportation Proposal That Focuses on America's Most Fundamental Infrastructure Needs. We look forward to strengthening our partnership as we continue to work on transportation materials science for advancing autonomous vehicles and other emerging technological innovations, vehicle lightweighting, and improved pedestrian and occupant safety with plastics and polymer composite solutions.
