The American Chemistry Council (ACC) appreciates the opportunity to submit comments on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Draft FY 2018-2022 Strategic Plan (the Plan). ACC represents a diverse set of companies engaged in the business of chemistry, which drives innovations that enable a more sustainable future, provides 810,000 manufacturing and high-tech jobs and nearly six million related jobs that support families and communities, and enhances safety through a diverse set of products and investments in R&D. These significant benefits are achieved through manufacturing operations and chains of production that are highly regulated. As such, ACC has a significant interest in EPAs focus on implementing environmental programs and the specific measures the Agency plans to use to achieve those ends.
