Dear Docket Manager: The Nanotechnology Panel (Panel) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) submits these comments on the United States Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) August 7, 2008, Federal Register notice (Docket No. 2008-N-0416) announcing the public meeting and request for comments on FDA's existing program and plans for regulating new or emerging nanotechnology materials. The Panel consists of companies that are engaged in the manufacture, distribution, and/or use of chemicals that have a business interest in the products of nanotechnology. FDA posed six general questions in the August 7, 2008 notice for further consideration. The Panel is pleased to respond to these questions, and includes its response as an attachment to these comments. If you have any questions, please contact William P.
