Dear Administrator Carlson, The American Chemistry Council (ACC), acting on behalf of its Plastics Division, is pleased to provide the attached detailed comments to NHTSA's (the Agency) Request for Comments for the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). In particular, our comments address the proposed update on the vehicle crashworthiness tests to include measuring pedestrian protection with the intention to reduce the number of fatalities, injuries, and economic losses resulting from these pedestrian impacts.
