On behalf of its U.S. producer member companies, please find attached the submission of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) on the Section 232 product exclusion process on steel imports.
In rendering decisions on requests for exclusions from the tariffs and quotas imposed on imports of steel and aluminum articles, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is seeking public comment on the appropriateness of the information requested and considered in applying the exclusion criteria, and the efficiency and transparency of the process employed. Comments must be received by BIS no later than July 10, 2020.
