The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) submits the attached comments to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) of the Department of Transportation (DOT) on the proposed waiver of Buy America requirements for electric vehicle (EV) chargers (Docket No. FHWA-2022-0023). AISI opposes this proposed waiver and requests that FHWA fully implement the Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements for EV chargers from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) without delay.
