NOTICE OF INTENT TO TESTIFY Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Proposed Rule to Improve Tracking of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses; 29 CFR Parts 1904 and 1952 Docket #: OSHA-2013-0023, or RIN: 1218-AC49 The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) hereby requests time to testify at OSHA's public hearing on this proposed rule concerning the tracking of workplaces injuries and illnesses. Brett Smith, or a designee, will appear on behalf of AISI. His contact information is below. He will require 10 minutes to present his testimony, which will detail the potential impact of this proposed rule on the operations of the North American steel industry. AISI serves as the voice of the North American steel industry in the public policy arena and advances the case for steel in the marketplace as the preferred material of choice. AISI also plays a lead role in the development and application of new steels and steelmaking technology. AISI is comprised of 24 member companies, including integrated and electric furnace steelmakers, and approximately 125 associate members who are suppliers to or customers of the steel industry. AISI's member companies represent over three quarters of both U.S. and North American steel capacity. AISI member companies are dedicated to improving workplace safety and regularly collect data on workplace injury and illnessES. Contact information: Brett S.
