Abstract

Oxides of Sulfur (SOx: with sulfur dioxide [SO2] serving as the indicator), is one of six principal pollutants for which EPA has established NAAQS (National Ambient Air Quality Standards). Periodically, EPA reviews the primary (health-based) scientific basis for these standards by preparing an Integrated Science Assessment, to meet the requirements set forth in Sections 108 and 109 of the Clean Air Act.
