We write to lend our full support to existing EPA regulations and to counter any attempt to misframe these important safeguards as a "burden." EPA regulations are a crucial environmental safety net that, for almost half a century, has helped keep us safe from toxic chemicals as well as air and water pollution. The EPA has also taken bold and important steps to reduce the threats of climate change by focusing on dangerous greenhouse gas emissions. We are opposed to any attempts to roll back environmental safeguards that will leave Americans more vulnerable to the threats from polluters.
