April 4, 2016 Susan Lewis Registration Division US EPA/OSCPP/OPP 7505P Environmental Protection Agency 1200 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20460 Dicamba: New Use on Herbicide-Tolerant Cotton and Soybeans Environmental Protection Agency Mailcode 28221 T 1200 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20460 Re: Request for Comment Period Extention for Dicamba: New Use on Herbicide-Tolerant Cotton and Soybean (Docket No. EPA-HQ-OPP-2016-0187) Dear Ms. Lewis, On behalf of the Center for Biological Diversity's (Center) 990,000 members and supporters, I am writing to request a 60-day extension of the comment period for Docket No. EPA-HQ-OPP-2016-0187, Dicamba: New Use on Herbicide-Tolerant Cotton and Soybean. Providing comments regarding the proposed unconditional registration for the new uses of the herbicide dicamba on genetically-engineered dicamba-tolerant cotton and soy is a substantial undertaking because this proposed action has the potential to massively impact agriculture, endangered species, and the environment. In evaluating this matter, we have realized that 30 days is not long enough for us to provide the meaningful and thorough feedback that this complicated matter demands. For this reason, the Center urges EPA to extend the comment period by at least 60 days.
