On behalf of the Center for Biological Diversity (Center), Portneuf Resource Council, ManaSota-88, and their thousands of members and supporters, we submit these comments in response to USDA's request for public comment from stakeholders, including non-profit organizations, on the draft Federal Strategy to Advance Greenhouse Gas Measurement and Monitoring for the Agriculture and Forest Sectors. Abstract

This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued on behalf of the Administration's Greenhouse Gas Monitoring and Measurement Interagency Working Group (GHG IWG). We are making available the draft interagency report entitled "Federal Strategy to Advance Greenhouse Gas Measurement and Monitoring for the Agriculture and Forest Sectors" and are seeking public input on a number of themes flowing from the Strategy. Comments received will inform the GHG IWG, and agencies planning and implementation of an agriculture and forestry monitoring, measurement, reporting, and verification framework and near-term activities, including discussions on potential partnerships.
