Defenders of Wildlife (Defenders) respectfully submits the attached comments (Defenders WOTUS comments 27Sept2017.pdf) in response to the proposed rule to Recodify the Pre-Existing Definition of "Waters of the United States" (82 Fed. Reg. 34899), pursuant to its March 6, 2017, notice of Intention to Review and Rescind of Revise the Clean Water Rule (82 Fed. Reg. 12532).

Abstract

As a first step in addressing a Presidential directive, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of the Army (Army) plan to recodify the previous definition of “waters of the United States.”
