In accordance with the federal notice posted by USFWS on Regulations.gov on August 22, 2022, Defenders of Wildlife has attached a recommendation that the United States support CITES CoP19 Proposal #39 to include freshwater stingrays (Potamotrygonidae) in Appendix II. In addition to this, as a member of the Species Survival Network (SSN), Defenders of Wildlife would like to express its support for the comments submitted by SSN. Lastly, we also wish to take this opportunity to thank the U.S. for being a co-proponent of the glass frogs proposal, as well as for its leadership in CITES generally.
