The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and Earthjustice appreciate the opportunity to provide comments to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the list of ad hoc candidates under consideration for participation in the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) peer review of the draft risk evaluation for the phthalates DBP, DEHP, and DCHP as well as the cross-phthalate human health benchmark dose (BMD) analysis, cancer analysis, and cumulative risk assessment technical support documents. Abstract

The Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) will review the draft risk evaluations of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), and dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP), the technical support documents for non-cancer human health and environmental hazard for butyl benzyl phthalate (also known as benzyl butyl phthalate, BBP) and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), and the cross-phthalate draft technical support documents for human health benchmark dose (BMD) analysis, cancer analysis, and cumulative risk assessment (CRA) analysis.
