Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council Amendment 53 to the Reef Fish FMP. Please see comments from the Environmental Defense Fund attached.
Amendment 53 will consider alternatives to revise the Gulf of Mexico red grouper, commercial and recreational sector allocation, the overfishing limit, acceptable biological catch,and sector annual catch limits, and annual catch targets. These measures would help to manage the stock using the best scientific information available.
