Abstract

This action is a reconsideration of the final rule titled “State Implementation Plan Submittal Deadlines and Implementation Requirements for Reclassified Nonattainment Areas Under the Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards” (published on January 17, 2025): EPA-HQ-OAR-2024-0333. That rulemaking established default State Implementation Plan (SIP) submittal deadlines and implementation deadlines following ozone nonattainment area reclassification. The rule also codified a policy regarding which lower classification requirements remain applicable when an area is reclassified.
