Sep 5, 2023· Comment from General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA)· FAA-2019-0573-0073

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) is an international association which represents over 150 of the world's leading general aviation airplane, rotorcraft, and powered-lift manufacturers, operators, service providers, repair facilities, and fixed-based operators, as well as companies developing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. GAMA appreciates the opportunity to file comments in response to the Amazon Prime Air petition for exemption posted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on August 16, 2023. The Amazon Prime Air petition for exemption seeks to revise the company's existing Exemptions Nos. 18601B and 18602B to enable beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations with the MK27-2 drone system, utilizing Detect and Avoid (DAA) systems to deconflict with other aircraft in lieu of using visual observers.
