Subject: GAMA Comments on Aircraft Repair Station Security Docket No. TSA-2004-17131; The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) is an international trade association headquartered in Washington, DC representing over 50 of the worlds leading manufacturers of general aviation aircraft, engines, avionics and related equipment. GAMAs members also operate fleets of aircraft, fixed based operations at many airports, certificated repair stations, and pilot training and maintenance training facilities. GAMA appreciates the opportunity to submit comments for consideration by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) early in the development of a new regulation for aircraft repair station security, as published in the Federal Register (69FR8357) on February 24, 2004. 1) TSA Responsible for Security Regulations - FAA Responsible for Safety Regulations 2) Security Regulations Should Address Security Vulnerabilities 3) Security Regulations Should be Tailored (Scalable) 4) Conclusion GAMA appreciates the opportunity to submit comments for consideration by the TSA early in the development of a new regulation for aircraft repair station security. The general aviation industry stands ready and willing to provide solutions to the security issues faced by our nation.
