Abstract

EPA is providing proposed standardized quantitative efficacy test methods for both bacteria and viruses in addition to interim guidance for companies wishing to add claims for certain porous surfaces. These specific claims include efficacy against public health pathogens on porous materials in non-residential settings such as non-clothing fabrics/textiles/upholstery that may be laundered on an infrequent (non-routine) basis where surface wiping and spot treatment is the primary means of cleaning and or disinfection.
