The League of Women Voters of Coos County supports the EPA's proposed standard to limit carbon pollution from new power plants. We also urge the EPA to move forward with carbon pollution standards for existing plants. Industrial carbon pollution spewing from power plants threatens our health. It fuels global warming, which increases smog, making it harder for children to breathe, and permanently damaging our lungs. We urge the EPA to clean up carbon pollution from new and existing power plants because it will protect Americans' health, spur investment in clean energy and unleash American innovation. We need to put people before polluters. That's why we stand beside the EPA to clean up our air.
