I call upon EPA to require manufacturers to specify so-called "inert" ingredients in all pesticide products, particularly since many of these ingredients are inherently hazardous. While "inerts" are not the primary active ingredient, most are added to facilitate uptake or adhesion of the product, and are therefore active to some degree. Some may have a synergistic effect with the pesticide they are added to or with other products that a product user may be applying simultaneously. This information will enable product users to make an informed decision about how and when to apply the pesticides they select, and will significantly improve protection of public health by clarifying the risks posed by many blended products.
