Comment on Docket No. FAA-2006-24103; Directorate Identifier 2005-NM-241-AD RIN 2120-AA64 AD would require the replacement of Intertechnique P/N L87-13-001 with P/N L87-13-003. The requirement to install a certain part numbered part to the exclusion of any other part nullifies 14 CFR § 21.303 preventing the development and/or use of alternative parts. This can be averted by adding the common phrase "or FAA-approved equivalent part number" as a suffix to the part number mandated to be installed.
