The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) appreciates the opportunity to comment on the proposal to withdraw the "required use" provision of the final rule issued on November 17, 2008 by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD or the Department), to amend Regulation X, HUD's Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) regulations, and to commence new rulemaking. MBA's comments are attached.
