RE: Regulatory Information Number 1651-AA66--Dcouments Required for Travel within the Western Hemisphere (WHTI) I am submitting comments on behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the nation's largest industrial trade association, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. The comments highlight concerns that the NAM has on how the proposed new travel document requirement contained in the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will affect the extraordinary high volume of business travel and tourism in North America. The NAM recommends that the comment period be extended to permit a more thorough analysis of the effects of the new travel document requirement and the options for meeting the goals of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA). More details are provided in the attached NAM letter to CBP Commissioner Bonner.
