Proposed Registration Extensions for Bt Corn Registrations Currently Set to Expire in 2010

NW Washington, D.C. 20460 RE: Public Participation for Proposed Registration Extension for Bt Corn Registration; Docket No. EPA-HQ-OPP-2010-0607 To Whom it May Concern: Thank you for the opportunity to provide comment regarding the proposed registration extension for Bt (bacillus thurengensis) corn. The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), which was founded in 1957, represents over 35,000 dues-paying corn growers. NCGA and its affiliated state associations work together to help protect and advance corn growers' interests. NCGA applauds the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for concluding "that Bt corn plant incorporated protectants have had a positive environmental impact…" since the agency's last review of the registrations. Bt corn technology is an integral tool for corn growers as we strive to provide food, feed, and fuel for the U.S. and world markets in an environmentally sound manner and we strongly support the registration extension for all Bt corn products at issue.
