Abstract
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is initiating an advance notice of proposed rulemaking to seek feedback on the Agency’s reconsideration of the provisions under 40 CFR 118 for Clean Water Act Hazardous Substance Facility Response Plans that were published in the Federal Register on March 28, 2024. This action is to consider potential amendments to reorganize and clarify requirements from the 2024 final rule. Any proposed amendments resulting from feedback received through the ANPRM will align with Administration priorities and would prioritize opportunities to ease regulatory burden.
