Dear Acting Administrator White, On behalf of the National Retail Federation (NRF), thank you for the opportunity to respond to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office) request for information (RFI) regarding medium- and heavy-duty electric charging technologies and infrastructure needs. NRF, the world's largest retail trade association, passionately advocates for the people, brands, policies and ideas that help retail thrive. NRF empowers the industry that powers the economy. Retail is the nation's largest private-sector employer, contributing $5.3 trillion to annual GDP. For over a century, NRF has been a voice for every retailer and every retail job, educating, inspiring and communicating the powerful impact retail has on local communities and global economies. After consulting with NRF members, we offer the attached responses to the questions raised within the RFI.
