Please kindly accept the attached files, comprising of 3,003 public comments from online members and activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), in opposition to the administration's proposed rollback of the National Environmental Policy Act - RIN 0331-AA03. For over 50 years, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) has served as a bedrock environmental protection empowering the American people to participate in decision making and speak out against federal projects -- like oil and gas pipelines and other risky fossil fuel developments -- that would put the environment, our climate, and our health and well-being at risk. Your reckless proposal to roll back NEPA would take away all of that in one fell swoop, giving the administration free rein to hide the environmental and health impacts of dangerous federal projects, while silencing the American people -- especially frontline communities most impacted by climate change and pollution. We're already seeing firsthand the devastating impacts of climate change around the world. This proposal would push us closer to climate catastrophe -- mortgaging our children's future security and the habitability of our planet for short-term polluter profits. Americans deserve to have their voices heard before their clean air and water, their environment, and their children's health are put at risk. We urge you to drop this misguided assault on democracy and environmental protection and keep NEPA intact.
