On behalf of the Natural Resources Defense Council, I request that the EPA conduct a public hearing on the Proposed Rule for Transportation Conformity PM2.5 and PM10 Amendments. Best, Adrian Martinez Project Attorney Natural Resources Defense Council
Abstract
The Transportation Conformity rule ensures that transportation activities are consistent with a state's plan for achieving air quality standards. These amendments will clarify how certain highway and transit projects meet statutory conformity requirements for particulate matter (PM), to respond to a December 2007 court ruling, and how to implement conformity requirements for the October 17, 2006 revisions to the PM standards.
