Dear Administrator Regan, Please accept these 7,872 public comments from members and activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in reference to Docket # EPA-HQ-OAR-2023-0589. Thirty-nine percent of people in the United States are experiencing unhealthy levels of air pollution, with the transportation sector being the largest source of climate pollution nationwide. Communities living near highways, warehouses, rail yards, and ports face daily exposure to diesel pollution from truck fleets, with low-income communities and communities of color suffering the brunt of this pollution. California's Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) standard offers a lifesaving solution by reducing pollution from trucks and ensuring a transition toward cleaner, zero-emission vehicles. This standard is essential for improving air quality and addressing the climate crisis. However, California and other states that choose to adopt this clean truck standard can't enforce it without a waiver approval from the EPA. Granting this waiver is vital to protect public health and ensure cleaner air for millions; failure to do so will leave communities vulnerable to persistent diesel pollution for years to come. Please do your part to help accelerate the transition to cleaner trucks, fight climate change, and protect public health by granting this important waiver without delay. Thank you. Sincerely, Margaret Tran Digital Campaign Manager, Digital Advocacy & Fundraising, NRDC
