Dear EPA Chief Michael Regan, Please accept these 13,335 public comments from members and online activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) calling on the EPA to move forward with the most robust possible plan to remove lead from our drinking water systems. We are encouraged to see that the EPA is developing a strategy that aims to reduce lead exposure across the country, especially in communities with a legacy of environmental injustices and lead contamination. A strong strategy and robust rules and funding to implement it would go a long way towards protecting our families and communities. We know that there is no safe level of lead -- period. One NRDC analysis found that 56 percent of the country -- communities in every state -- drank from drinking water systems with detectable levels of lead. The EPA must do everything within its power to remove this neurotoxin from our water systems once and for all. Thank you.
