The attached files contain letters from 919 individuals who submitted the comment below. Jan 3, 2016 EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy Subject: Ban all use of the toxic pesticide chlorpyrifos Dear Administrator McCarthy: EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, EPA's recent proposal to ban use of the neurotoxic pesticide chlorpyrifos on food crops was a big step in the right direction. I urge you now to follow through with this proposal -- and to do even more to protect our health by banning all uses of this dangerous, outdated chemical. After years of delay, EPA has finally acknowledged the extensive evidence that exposure to chlorpyrifos damages the development of children's brains. Immediate action to ban chlorpyrifos is needed to: * Protect children from reduced IQ, developmental delay, and other harms to the brain and nervous system; * Protect communities from health harms of chlorpyrifos when it drifts off crops and into nearby neighborhoods and schools; * Protect infants from contaminated drinking water and other unsafe exposures; and * Protect workers from being poisoned at unconscionable rates A complete ban on this toxic chemical is long overdue. I urge you to ensure that your agency moves quickly to ban chlorpyrifos now. Thank you for your consideration of this important issue.
