Dear EPA Administrator Zeldin, Please accept these 4,678 public comments from members and activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in reference to Docket # EPA-HQ-OW-2025-2929. I am concerned about your agency's recent proposal that would restrict the Clean Water Act authority of states and Tribes to help ensure that federally permitted projects do not undermine water quality. For 50+ years, the Clean Water Act has empowered communities to modify projects that would foul their own drinking water sources, rivers, and wetlands. This proposal would weaken the law to fast-track oil and gas pipelines and other damaging projects, harming states and Tribes without their input in the process. We cannot give away more of our waters to industry while our communities, health, wildlife, and environment pay the price. I urge you to reverse course and uphold communities' rights to have a say in projects that could impact their clean water. Thank you.
