Please accept these public comments from 26,670 online members and activists on behalf of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) regarding FDA-2016-F-1253-0379. Our supporters urge the FDA to seize the opportunity to help reduce risk to consumers due to exposure to phthalates in food. We ask that the FDA grant a petition from NRDC and our partner organizations to stop allowing phthalates in food additives in light of evidence that phthalates can cause reproductive health problems, birth defects, brain impairments and developmental delays in children. This measure is an important step forward to protect public health by reducing exposure to these dangerous chemicals. Thank you.
