Dear Fish and Wildlife Service, Please accept these 13,700 public comments from members and activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in reference to Docket # FWS-HQ-ES-2024-0157. I am deeply concerned about President Trump's recent executive order to roll back endangered species act protections and its impacts on imperiled wildlife. Americans across the country, including me, are counting on your agency to save wildlife from extinction. I'm writing to support proposed protections for all four species of giraffe under the Endangered Species Act. Giraffe populations have decreased nearly 40% since the 1980s due to a variety of threats, including poaching, habitat loss, and more frequent and severe droughts associated with climate change. Our country has a responsibility to defend giraffes. Please act quickly to finalize these lifesaving protections and save our iconic giraffes. Thank you.
