Dec 22, 2025· Mass Mailing from Natural Resources Defense Council· FWS-HQ-ES-2025-0044-9173

Dear FWS Director Nesvik and NMFS Asst. Administrator Soler, Please accept these 38,060 public comments from members and activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in reference to Docket #FWS-HQ-ES-2025-0044. I am deeply concerned about your proposals to roll back lifesaving Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections for endangered wildlife and their habitats, and I urge you to reconsider these reckless plans. Protections under the ESA are our most effective tool for combating the appalling decline of wildlife across the nation. Hundreds of species were on a path to extinction until they were saved by this law's protections, including bald eagles and gray wolves. And a million species are at risk of extinction in the coming decades, including grizzly bears, Florida panthers, and manatees. Right now, we have a choice between bringing endangered wildlife back from the brink, or losing them forever. We must act while we still can. More than four out of five Americans support the ESA. Please uphold this essential law and protect imperiled wildlife. Thank you. Sincerely, Margaret Tran Ramadhar National Digital Advocacy Campaign Manager, NRDC
