Dear Principal Deputy Director Martha Williams, Please accept the attached 33,718 comments from members and online activists of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) asking you to fully restore the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), which was illegally gutted by the previous administration. There has never been a more critical time to have a robust MBTA. We've lost 3 billion North American birds since 1970, and climate change is threatening to wipe out two-thirds of all bird species unless we act now to save them. If fully restored, this landmark law will once again protect more than 1,000 species of birds from toxic waste, oil spills, and other industrial threats by holding corporations responsible for their actions. We are counting on you to help save one of our nation's first and most important conservation laws for birds. Thank you for your time and consideration.
