The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) appreciates the opportunity to provide the attached comments relating to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportations Proposed Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient (SAFE) Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks.

Abstract

EPA established national GHG emissions standards under the Clean Air Act that extend through 2025. In this rulemaking, EPA will propose adjustments to those standards, following conclusion of the Mid-Term Evaluation (MTE) process and EPA’s Final Determination that it is appropriate to adjust the MY2022-2025 GHG emission standards.
