CGG E14-005 Atlantic G&G Permit Application

Enclosed please find the Surfrider Foundations comments on CGG Services 2D Deep Penetration Seismic Testing Permit Application (No. E14-005) for the Atlantic.

I oppose seismic testing in the fertile and sea life filled waters of the near Atlantic Ocean. It has been proven to affect cetaceans, and surely impacts other sea life as well. There are more responsible way to obtain energy, and we should be exploring those! Please create a more responsible plan that would: * Keep all Atlantic and Arctic waters off-limits to oil and gas leasing, drilling and seismic exploration * Strengthen safeguards to reduce risks in areas already affected by drilling * Protect future generations from the dangers of climate change by slashing carbon pollution * Invest in clean energy and energy efficiency alternatives, such as offshore wind power
