This guidance document the official compliance guide for imported articles that may contain long-chain perfluoroalkyl carboxylate chemical substances as part of a surface coating. The information in this guide was compiled from and based on the EPA regulation entitled, “Long-Chain Perfluoroalkyl Carboxylate and Perfluoroalkyl Sulfonate Chemical Substances; Significant New Use Rule,” published on July 27, 2020. EPA is continually improving and updating its rules, policies, compliance programs, and outreach efforts.
